What We Do At The Center

What We Do At The Center

The Urgent Care and Trauma Center (ER) at the Assuta Ashdod Hospital. Urgent medical services, close to home, 24/7.

The Center began operations in November 2017, important tidings for residents of Ashdod and the surrounding region – for the first time they had access to urgent medical services, close to home, 24/7. The ER is the gateway to the hospital, constituting a substantial part of the medical services we provide to the community. The Urgent Care and Trauma Center performs triage on the patients who arrive at the hospital, provides urgent or critical medical care, and routes them for further treatment – whether in one of the hospital’s various departments, or within the community. The ER at Assuta Ashdod Hospital was designed with patients in mind, focusing on them above all.

At Assuta Ashdod Hospital, we know that visiting an ER is often, naturally, accompanied by a sense of urgency, tension, expectation, and fears. The Urgent Care and Trauma Center (ER) at Assuta Ashdod Hospital was designed to help relieve those feelings and provide our patients with all the support they need, in as short a time as possible, for the sake of their health. The Center staff is made up of specialist physicians and nursing staff with a wealth of experience in emergency and trauma care, as well as residents and support staff. All of our staff work to ensure that patients receive full, courteous, speedy and effective care, and to provide them with the information they so need during their stay in the ER.

The Center is managed by Dr. Debra West, who has many years of experience in emergency medicine.
The Center staff is made up of specialist physicians and nursing staff with a wealth of experience in emergency and trauma care, as well as residents and support staff. Dr. West says: “I decided to join the hospital because I identify with its values and the desire to provide patients with a different standard of care. From my perspective, this is an opportunity to build a hospital and a system from scratch, from the foundations. I see this as fulfilling the Zionist vision. My goal in life is to serve patients in the best possible way.”
